Speak Your Mind

I am an Indian and I like to voice my opinions candidily in a very brutal fashion. For me freedom is the most important virtue on this planet. This blog can contain any type of views on anything.

A Musing
Today I am going to talk about the hills & my fascination for them. Though I am having a lot &long to speak about this but here I am going to restrict the topic to some selected areas only (that too selectively). Actually, today (26/10/03) I read in the newsreel on 'Aaj Tak' news channel that winters are now going to intensify as upper Himalayas in Uttranchal has received their first snowfall of the season. That triggered off all the sweet memories of my Uttranchal stay & charged me with anew enthusiasm for my next visit there in November month.
Though I will be going there for some business but as I'll have ample time after completing the work so I wish to go to Mussoorie also for a day. Though I?ve no pangs about traveling alone like most of the people have, but I would be more happy if I could get somebody good to accompany me (especially female).

Dosti – The Friendship
Being out of job for some time now I’ve been reading, thinking & writing a lot, which can be tortuous for an ordinary human being but definitely not for me. Though this may sound somewhat snobbish but I am talking factually. During this intellectual process of reading, thinking & writing, initially I used to dwell on economic, social, strategic, political & other somewhat routine topics. However, later on, I graduated to abstruse topics like spirituality, life, relations etc. So here comes one of those.
Here I talk about ‘Friendship’, one of the most beautiful things to exist on this planet. Some people consider it even the greatest & the most important relationship on earth. There had been stories, books, sayings, movies & incidents since times immemorial depicting the spirit of friendship. Even today we can hear one thing or another about this wonderful phenomenon. All of us have friends, however, not necessarily living beings. While most of us befriend human beings or animals, some of us find books, nature & other abstract things more friendly.
Different people have different definitions of friendship. However, I can’t comment over others’ one but I can definitely talk about mine. The brooding which I’ve done all these days ha given me some insight into this matter. I feel that most of our friends use as just time pass. They talk to us only when they are feeling bore & want some body to vent out. Most of them are only fair weather friends. They reach us only for their own interests & believe me 95-98 % of the people we call our pals are of this category. They use us like tissue paper. Our true friends are those who contact us selflessly, cheer us when we are down & shower us with their unconditional affection. Such pals are true gems.
And I am fortunate enough to possess some true gems. To elaborate more about four of them, one is studying at Mandi Govindgarh (Punjab), one at Muzaffarnagar, one in Allahbad & one in Orissa. In total I’ve six, here I am talking about four of them . I read few years back “ True love is rare, true friendship is rarer.” But, hey, its not true for me. I’ve found more friends then true lovers during my life till now.
Long Live the Friendship.
